Peachy Coral Tangerine Lips

Barbara Palvin looks gorgeous in these spring makeup looks from the June issue of Marie Claire France [see more photos, here]. Taupe eyeshadow with a peachy tint to her lips (more noticeable to the right, next to those yellow blooms).

Compared to a strictly nude lip -- which is starting to look a bit outdated --a light coral tint looks fresh and youthful. There are degrees -- I'm not sure I could pull off some of those full-on opaque, almost fluorescent orange shades (models' puckers visible from a mile away in Rag & Bone and DKNY's Spring 2014 Ready-to-Wear shows). A sheer, shall we say more tangerine shade seems perfect for everyday wear.

Vogue recommends Lipstick Jungle's Jungle Queen (described as a 'pop-papaya coral' color) for a buildable sheer application of color for both lips and cheeks.

I've also been eyeing a unique lip formula from Etude House, a Korean brand, called 'Lips Fit' in 'Coral'. It's a stain that turns into a matte "powdery texture" on your lips (but apply lip balm before and after if you want a more glossy look). [As a sidenote: If you want to go down a make-up hole, head over to Soko Glam, a Korean cosmetics site (as featured on Into The Gloss) to discover ridiculously cute things like strawberry curlers or SPF 50 cushioned compacts.]
