Polka Dots, Spots, Etc.

Polka dots, traditionally perceived as cute and twee, a bit retro, and also currently very Taylor Swift meets Betty Draper style. And if you're a fan of them, well...I've never gravitated towards the standard polka dot print (except on the ever elegant Marion Cotillard for Dior Magazine, pictured after the break), but these 'twists' on the good 'ol polka dot thicken the plot, so to speak. Take this Suno skirt and YSL wallet -- big 'spots' (can't really call them 'dots') present a more '60's mod/modern feel. And if the uniformity of polka dots is getting to you, then you'll like the more whimsical, uneven print seen in Rebecca Minkoff's Resort 2015 collection (maxi dress, pictured after the break). [And finally, try your hand at the most charming polka dot cake made with colored dough balls baked inside the cake! Thank you, Pinterest. Handmade Charlotte]
